Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that after talking about it for months if not years, that's it, I have found a job in south of France.
I'll be living in Nice at the start and working in Monaco.
I am starting in a month :inlove which means this week-end is my last one at Saltfree :( So I hope to see most of you there.
The good news is that as soon as I ham fully instaled, you will be very much wellcome in Nice for some salted freediving. I'll try to accomodate you as well as I can.

Remi ...
:waterwork
sad that you're leaving us but looking on the sunny side ... we'll be there to help you drink that rosé and I can chat up the chichi man with my superb Franglaise :wave.

Maybe also you'll return now and then for some real freediving - not that warm, clear bluewater stuff. Sorry you're going, but I can understand why. I won't see you this weekend, but will the weekend after on your new home territory :)

Oh no!! Sorry Remi!! well... sorry to lose you but happy for you that you can go home.

Do we get to keep Matthias?

Can I have your car? : )

Remi, sorry I could not dive with you this weekend (bloody infectious kids!!!). I will look forward to diving with you in Nice some time soon.

All the best

David

Best of luck Remi - enjoy the clear, blue water :)

Hi Remi,

Well done on your dive yesterday. You were looking good.
Maybe we can get DIY Dave to build us a trailer to tow behind your car that we can all pile into. Then we can all come over and see you in Nice at the same time!

Good luck for Nice.

Lammy Dave.

A Ferrieri in the car park, NDC two years this May
Crowds there for competition, there was much going on that day
He said he’d come from France and could he take the plunge as well
We said ‘no not today, monsieur, we’re busy - can’t you tell?’

Some weeks passed by, Saltfree returned, and there again was Remi
Dipped toe in quarry and asked us all, “ a dry suit or a semi?”
We let him in, this stray French cat, though cautious we were very
What would he wear in waters cold? We hoped more than a beret.

As seasons changed, our friendship grew, each month he would take part
In diving deep, in helping out, with a show of Gallic heart
It wasn’t long before he’d bond to a chef we knew as Franck
Real name ‘Le shrimp’, also from France, and as solid as a tank

Sessions I have been to now, well the number must be many
I don’t remember any though, without the face of Remi
It seemed to me he’d be there for himself less than for others
Assisting Sam and Laura and their aquatic band of brothers

Now his homeland calls, he must return, to the sunny port of Nice
Where when you’ve finished diving you don’t have to wear a fleece
We’ll miss him much, won’t be the same - but he really won’t be far
So I don’t think we will say goodbye, we’ll just say “Au Revoir”

MANY MANY congratulations to Remi on his FRENCH RECORD!!! 42M No Fins Constant Weight at the Nice comp last weekend -a big well done! and just goes to show that training what training in a deep dark lake can do for you.

Well done also to Mark on his 60m dive and to Theo on his 75m

see what you can all do in Chepstow later this summer..... ; )

Thanks everybody for your comments,
It makes it even more difficult to leave, but I hope to see you all at some point in Nice, and I might come back for some toughening in the green cold lake :D

Nice one Barry :king
