I cant break the 2'00 mark! HELP!

It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Congrats! Keep on going, but avoid making any stupidities, and especially always keep on mind the maximal possible security. You may be entering the phase when breath-holding may get really dangerous, especially if done without the surveillance of experienced buddies. You are already capable to fight the urge to breath and that can lead to fatal accidents when diving or holding breath under water.

Hi twitchy fish

The way I did it and I am a complete novice at frrediving (although exp at scuba) was to do repetitive breath holds with a good deep relax between each stint and whilst concdentrating on the breath hold concentrated on my pulse / heart rate, so what I do is count in my mind at a slower rate than my heart is beating so I focus on this to control my reaction to the excitement of being in the water and being aware of surroundingds etc - hope it helps, Wally

Another tip might be to relax even more when you feel the first contraction coming. Try to relax as much as possible - don't let the diaphragm contract. Think of contractions as something positive that you want to save for later. With some training you will be able to delay the first contractions for 30 seconds or more after the first sign of contractions. You will feel that tension in your chest that gets stronger and stronger. It will soon reach the point where you want to get rid of it. Thats where these 'positive' contractions come in handy. Let the first contraction come and you'll feel that it will make this tension disapear. Stay relaxed, let this tension build up again... delay the next contraction as long as possible and then use it again to get rid of this tension. This way you will be able to withstand another minute with very few contractions. The contractions will then come in much faster succession but sooner or later you will be able to even withstand one or more contractions per second.
