Thanks for the tip. Id been under the assumption that these riffe guns were built/designed/balanced to be used only with the specific recommended bands. Id also feared that accuracy would be lessened with excess power.
Im looking for replacements for the original bands, and when i find them...Ill buy enough 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch bands to last a while. BTW, what length 5/8 bands are you using for the competitor 0? I am currently using a single hawaiian flopper.

Hawkeye,
My riffe 0 comp is perfectly accurate with the three 1/2" bands.
So accurate in fact I was looking into powering it up with two 5/8's and one 1/2" in hopes of turning it into a gun capable of making 15' penetration shots.
So I took two 16mm bands from my RA and fed them through the notch and topped it off with one of my 1/2 riffe bands to check the fit. It fits fine but i havent gotten off my rear end to pick up the 5/8 material as of yet. Im planing on making them 15" long just like the original 1/2" bands im replacing.
IYA made a good point on an offpost communication we had that it might be a good idea to change the shaft out to a 5/16 for extra punch at distance.
Im still mulling this one over, though. I cant help but think of all those Euro guns with 6mm shafts and way overstretched 20mm bands-------FAST & ACCURATE-------.:martial
to accomodate the power and facilitate the range I have three wraps of shooting line attached to a cheap little euro reel.
This little gun is trick, aim, fire, kill shot! Great reef gun!
Cant wait to see how it works with the 5/8"'s.
Hopefully it shoud be done this weekend!
The great thing is no mods neccesary, so it can be changed back for those not too hot vis days shooting into the rocks. :crutch
