I was rubbish in DNF, made a neck weight and I'm still rubbish

Thanks mate. One other question, I've heard most people tend to have longer bottom times on DNF versus DYN, but I seem to be the other way around. I can only put this to having weak DNF technique thus having to burn more o2 for my meters. Thoughts?

Congrats on you NR.

I've seen your DNF video recently and I had impression you didn't care. I'm very new to freediving so my opinion doesn't count but your technique looked so much different compared to what I normally see watching DNF videos.

Thanks, mate. Although I didn't break the DNF record at the US Nationals on the weekend (175m). I tried my best but unfortunately it wasn't good enough on the day. Being a spearfisherman and not a swimmer I had never used my arms until a few months ago (except to pull the trigger!) so it was a steep learning curve. What I lack in talent I think I make up in hard work. Maybe I just need to work harder! It's not my preferred discipline as I find the latter stages of the swim very difficult (gliding on contractions is hard!)

I watched a lot of DNF videos, especially Dave Mullins and Jody Fisher, the later is just a pure joy to watch, it's like a ballet performance.

I would like to give it another go at the World Championships but I would need to have to do a fundraiser to cover costs. We'll see.

Post some video of your swims some time. Tons of awesome divers on this site that I'm sure would love to help you out (I would but I'm still terrible. lol).
