As mysteriously alluded to by Carlos Serra in one of his updates on Patrick's progress, the mystery has been turned into reality as now Herbert Nitsch will be doing 2 record attempts with the IAFD (see their website: http://www.iafdusa.com).

They will be 300+ foot dives in constant weight & free immersion (91m+).

However, the attempts will be in the bahamas, which are close to Miami; my understanding is that the water conditions are similar, meaning that deep sea currents could be a problem.

We'll see how it goes I suppose....

They also announced a new magazine called 'freediver pro'.

Eric,

It's interesting to see that there is now a number of record attempts being held or being talked about. I think that the next couple of years will be very interesting to watch as we'll see another "spurt" of deeper depths, especially in disciplines such as Constant Ballast or Free Immersion.

This can be nothing but good for the sport as minor rivals develop, so long as they are managed properly and don't spill over into a political battle.

Our eyes are certainly drawn towards AIDA now to see if they will react at all?
