Does this mean that nobody nominated athletes like Herbert or Guy?

When you look on the longer list, then you can see that there are both Guy, and Herbet too. I do not know what key was used to select the final four from them for the public vote - perhaps it was the number of supporting votes, perhaps, the number of awards received in the past, perhaps an internal vote, and perhaps just a random generator.

I dont know if the people behind ICARE, care about freediving, so much that they actually want to take a few minutes and verify the accuracy of a nomination, or think out a system of voting that is not based on "who has the most friends", or who is the nicest guy".

I know all the guys behind these awards personnaly and I can assure you this is definetly wrong, and that they do care about freediving!

But I agree that a lot af improvements can and must be made to make these Awards interresting.

For those who care, please do give your opinions and suggestions, either here and I will forward them or directly on immersion profondes forum.

Well, it would be interesting to know the key for selecting the candidates, and how it happened that some of the best and most successful freedivers from the last year did not appear at all on it. Knowing the selection method could perhaps also explain why I landed on the list, although I do not belong there. Once we know the current methods, we can then give you some suggestions for improvements. However, the first ones would be verifying facts, checking competition results, world records, and ranking, and then reading email, and at least answering when somebody reports a mistake.
