illinois, wisconsin or michigan...good places for beginer

hi everybody.
just looking for some good places and some people to have fun with:friday.
im a beginer and would like to skindive and maybe some spearfishing.
i don't have wetsuit and dont know what is good for low price and where to buy..? just got my first fins and mask.

im pretty new to the freedive world as well.. i live west of chicago. i haven't dived anywhere around here at all. but up in wisconsin i've been going to the redgranite quarry.. which is pretty cool and my home town.

where are you from?

i would love to go diving in lake michigan.

what is so cool about that redgranite quarry?
any website or anything to check that place by internet?
im a 100% beginer so im looking for some not too deep spots with clean blue water...

Where have U been guys when I was looking for a buddy?
So here we go, hard to do real diving in Lake Michigan without the boat, even
harder without the wetsuit. Look for custom open cell Elios.
There is preetty much me and Jim freedivechicago here, ILDiver Chris is in Peoria and Dr Jeremy in Woodstock.
Quite often some new people will post and ask what U just asked now,
so we tell them how things are, how strong and serious Wosconsin and IL teamm is. They get excited and... we never hear from them again.

Funny thing You post four days after Freedive Palooza, we just got back from
Lake Wazee, too bad You didn't make it, it was good for beginers too.

Anyway, when Jim is too far sometimes I will need buddy at the pool this winter if You are interested on dynamic as well...

most of your spearfishing is going to be done in Wisconsin. As ILLINOIS is very strict and limit where you can spear. Lake Geneva is a good lake to spearfish and dive. Make sure you know what fish you are spearing. Keep an eye on the wisconsin section and people post when they are going and where.

Good link Lake Geneva is pleasant. Also Fontana at the far end of the Lake is small but has a good little beach (where the triathlon starts). Never speared there but swam there several times.

i got pro star fins by cressi and cressi piuma mask, but looking for new mask, maybe alien by omer or something like that...
im looking for wetsiut as well, i was thinking about 5 mm omer.
i like my fins, good choice for beginer.
there is a pool in mount prospect where u can bring all your stuff and feel free to use it for about two hours between 11 and 12.45 every weekend day, there is no lap swim that time (regular spool).
lake geneva sounds good, i would love to try over there.
im going over there this sunday
