Hi everyone, I am new to the forum so first I´d like to say hi :-D

Some friends and I are planning a trip to the Azores in june 2010 so if anyone could tell me what to expect of the divingconditions, such as visibility, watertempeture, waves and curents??? also i´d like to know what kind of fish we can expect to shoot at that time of year???

Any help is much appriciated :-D

Best regards, Brian Funder...

Welcome Brian.

If you want some info quick then type Azores into the search function at the top of the page. I know there have been a few similar requests in the past. Some DB members have been there, my brother for one.

I went to Azores this year and my best suggestion is to contact Norberto at
Azores | Whale Watching, Scuba Diving, Fishing Tours, Boat Tours | Faial and Pico
and tell him what you are interested in. He speaks English and can help you. To get pelagic fish you need to be taken to pinnacles at a certain time of year. Norberto spearfishes as well as does scuba so he is the best source for info. Visibility depends on a time of year, water temp is 17 degrees.

From the shore expect to get mullet, maybe amberjacks and dentex

have been on organised trips in the past with great success. If you follow the link try and contact either Paul Maxwell, Colin Chester or Mike Bradshaw all of whom have been on spearfishing trips to the Azores on more than one occasion. Good luck!
