Inner Barrel Muzzle Threads and Sizes

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Mares Cyrano Evo 42-70cm has the exact same muzzle as Sten 11. M16 x 1,25, ID=11mm
Tomba kit for Sten 11 fits Cyrano Evo.
Salvimar Vuoto 11 does not fit the Evo as it is to thick (24mm) to enter the nose cone.

How much material would need to be removed from the Salvimar muzzle for it to fit the "Cyrano Evo"? Mares muzzles on the later 2001 series based guns and the original "Cyrano" sit in front of a flat-ended nose cone and not inside a forward well that covers the rear end of the muzzle. The Salvimar "Vintair/Vuoto-Air" nose cone has a forward well, same as the Scubapro "Magnum" that it is based on.

The original "Sten11" end "Cyrano Evo" muzzle has 20mm OD. The Salvimar "Vuoto 11" muzzle is OD 24mm.

The forward well on the "Cyrano Evo" is approx. 11mm deep.

Thanks, so if you have a lathe, as I do, then you could simply machine the excess material off. Just paint the bare alloy and it will be covered up by the nose cone well, otherwise seawater will chew into the non-anodized surface as it gets into even the smallest gap. Alternatively the machined area could be coated with grease to keep any water out.

Can you guys tell me what is the thread size on the mares cyrano muzzle tip, the one where the shock absorber is. Thanks

This is very useful thread.
There are few more things that are very usefull regarding pneumatic spearguns parts compatibility.
Like valve thread, pump thread, ... also it is useful to know distance from muzzle oring to top of the barrel (if you want to swap muzzle with some other model)
Valve thread is useful if you want to use valve from some other manufacturer, same goes for pump thread.
Best way to have them all in one place is some kind of table so that you can quickly see that for example
- mares sten 13 valve goes to all 13 mm barrel guns - like seac asso, cressi sl, tigulio ras, ...
- cressi valve goes to tigulio ras, but not to sten or asso cause it is too large because of M18 pump fitting
- omer tempest valve is not compatible with anything cause it uses different step - M14 x 1
- however mares pump is compatible with omer tempest since it uses same thead, but it is not compatible with cressi and tigulio

Here is an example, copy paste from excel, table looks better in excel, don't know how to make it better in xenforo (will check it later)

Speargun ID OD Valve Thread Pump Thread Head thread
Mares Sten 13 18 M14 x 1.25 x 17 M14 x 1 M18 x 1.25 x 18
Seac ASSO
13 18 M14 x 1.25 M14 x 1 M18 x 1.5
Cressi SL
13 18 M14 x 1.25 M18 x 1.5 M18 x 1.25
Tigullio RAS
13 18 M14 x 1.25 x 17 M18 x 1.5 M18 x 1.25
Omer Tempest
13 18 M14 x 1 x 17 M14 x 1 M18 x 1 x 24

Last number in thread is thread male length in mm, but you can also add female length after that - for example valve male lenght is legth of thread on valve - female length would be leght of thread in barrel, same for pump or head

The original "Sten11" end "Cyrano Evo" muzzle has 20mm OD. The Salvimar "Vuoto 11" muzzle is OD 24mm.

The forward well on the "Cyrano Evo" is approx. 11mm deep.

Now fixed.
