Sure u couldn't even get a bass tonight bob. Loads of them there and all. I got the tshirt tonight......

... never had such a bad dive... bad conditions at main site... backup site had bad viz, bad swell, bad light with setting sun and i got cold, fed up and left...
but i do say a bad days diving beats a good days working
anyway, after filleting 30 mackeral and 3 cod i wasnt in the mood to do a few more bass... so i left em for u

Hi guys! Yesterday swam together with buddy and we met a new big friend. It was amazing. Very difficult to describe emotions. Have a look at this video. It's long enough 10 min. but I did very rough editing 'cause was very tired.

Choker I'm totally speachless. That is great footage. That's what diving is all about. Well done!! My brother studies cetaceans and will be delighted with this footage. Can u pm the area so we can film it? We have access to an rte dive camera and it would be great for his research as he tracks dolphins all over the country for the whale and dolphin group. That's very unusal for a dolphin to be so relaxed and alone. He just left on a tuna fishing boat to see how many dolphins die per tuna caught off Ireland so when he gets back I'm sure he would give his left arm to study this guy.

You know, one thing I love about your vids is that unlike other spearing vids where the camera is attached to the gun, yours is on your mask... I love the perspective, really puts me there with you!

I haven't been as active as I'd like over the last few weeks, what with bad weather, work commitments and family stuff. So yesterday I got my new float and mini roller together and headed off to the beach. The plan was to swim from the high tide to the low all along a section of coastline.
When I got to my first location there were three seals hovering about the area I wanted to fish, I swam out to the kelp but I only seen a solitary mullet for the whole two hours I was out there. Thats the second time in as many weeks I've seen the seals and no fish, they have either scared them all off or eaten them.
I then went on to my mid to low water area and though I seen more fish they were extremely spooky and not present in the numbers I had seen before, most took off before I even got in range. The wind was northerly and was causing a bit of chop on the water so I was bouncing around and making more noise. The new mini roller is great, its nice and light and very powerful for its size, in fact, I need to get a reel for it as you can really feel the strain on it when the shooting line runs out and stretches on the bungie. Water temp on the surface was 16c and viz was 4-6 metres. I managed to get a 3lb bass and I found the new board great for holding the fish and my spare gun. I actually ended up going back to my XXV as the mini roller had stretched the bungie a bit and the line was too loose to hold the spear on the open muzzle.
I hope to make it down on Saturday if I can get a replacement to work for me over the weekend but I won't know for sure until Friday.

Thank you. I use regular mask from Beuchat https://www.apnea.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=1_4&products_id=1364 and mounted GoPro in between glasses.
How do u see anything with it mounted infront of the mask lens?? Do u mount it on top of the mask??

Well unfortunately I have to gracefully bow out of the weekend in beara. Some complications with the missus and baby. Looking likely that I'll be a daddy this weekend coz there probably gonna induce her.
