HELP !! After a dive on Sunday I noticed a small rip in the foot pocket of one of my fins however on closer inspection last night its worse than I thought. It could not happen at a worse time with the wknd in Cork coming up just wondering if anyone thinks its fixable I'm thinking cable ties and TEC-7????
I have borrowed a pair but they are bright yellow I think they would scare every fish for miles!

I have a nice pair of cressi gara pro's that you can borrow... should be fine with a pair of socks for you. I'll be using my mares I'd say. I also have the same fins as you have in the pic but they are on the boat and I doubt I'll be out before the wknd. The Yellow will be fine as long as you are swimming head first

Cheers for the offer Rob I'll take you up on that if you don't mind, thanks for the offer too Vasile. I'll try and do a repair job on them anyway just in case was planning on buying carbons soon was just waiting to go on hols so I could actually try them on. Its looking a bit windy for the wknd but I'm sure we can find a sheltered spot somewhere:martial
Derek your float is really cool, I'd say the only thing missing is an alfa flag...its so shallow I doubt anyone would see it in a little swell. Any more info on your oller gun?

I reckon billeragh but might be blown up with the nw. Around the dursey area has great deep water and all the eastern side of the cable cars looks amazing!! Ideal with the weather predicted too. Every time I've been down there was something stopping me freediving but I've been on scuba there loads.
Looks like yer gonna be at the mercy of mother nature tho. Still......there is always the pub. Zetland pier is a nice spot. Not much fish but if u venture around the private island u might find something. Pity bout the weather. As I said, every time I plan to freedive beara.......

Never been, Pedro is the man with the info he's probably in work at the mo. Having a look on Google Earth Bileragh and Loughane Beg look good Ardagannive is close too the hostel and should be sheltered. The area around the cable cars does look interesting alrite suppose it depends on the weather on the day. If someone twisted my arm............... I suppose.......I could go the pub.:friday

Cheers Feargus. Great video and once again a great soundtrack. Best band in the world. That pollock was definitely the one I clipped!! Didn't know u got a pic and glad he's still swimming the poor fella. Nice war wound to show the grand kids.

Rob the float came with a mast for the flag but I have to pick one up yet. Its quiet a sturdy board and well thought out, one of the guys here on DB designed it and gets them manufactured...I love the way you can carry all the gear and float on your back with the harness if you have a walk to the beach.
The new gun is the Seatec Mini Roller 75 (ROLLER...izziamoci ), I got it from Spearfishing-Shop, range and price of kit is pretty good and I couldn't get the Mini Roller from the usual online shops. It took a week to arrive and online tracking ended when it left Germany. Nothing can beat the shipping from Scubastore in terms of price and speed but they don't seem to stock any of the kit I am looking for lately.
The mini roller 75 is powerful and very maneuverable, it doesn't come with a reel which I think is a must have if you don't like double wraps. It seems to get easier to pull back the bands as you draw them nearer to you, a bit like a compound bow with the pulley system. My first shot at a bass that was 2 metres away completely stoned it (first time I ever did that). The bungie and chord I am using seem to stretch and not return to their original size so the shooting line becomes slack and the spear loose in the open muzzle, maybe I am doing something wrong but I reckon the reel will sort that out. I haven't used any other sized spearguns so I can't really comment on power comparisons but another spearo has substituted his C4 100 for the Seatec 75 Mini Roller.

I'm in for Saturday in Beara, just have to sort some accomodation now. I could drive down late Friday night or get there around mid day on Saturday. Is the Hungry Hill Hostel the preferred stopover or is there another Hotel/Hostel being considered?
