Here you have guys the results of the IV Spanish apnea national competition celebrated last 11-13 July. The disciplines were static and dynamic (25 m pool). This is the first year we have had 2 statics up of 6 min in the national, mine 6.17 min and my friend Manolo performance 6.11 min.

In the pictures you can see some of the participants and me developing my static performance.

Please in this web to see the results list and pictures go to : "17-07-2003: Resultados y fotos del Campeonato de España de Apnea 2003 celebrado en Valencia el 12 y 13 de Julio..."

Congrats on the 6:17 static in comp very well done.

Your link didnt work for me so I ask what did you get in dynamics.

Hi Ivan,

I did only 75 m, and I was penalized in -25m because I broke the surface line of the water with my left fin when turning in my third lap. I have never trained before this discipline, so I’m not very good turning.

Please guys, do somebody have the same problem like Ivan, do the link work for the rest of you??

hi Guss

I tried the link again tonight and it worked, though I cant read a word on that site :D

Cong. guss!!

Some resaults!!
Link works fine for me...
What is your PB is static?

Hi zipy

My PB in static’s is 6.20". My performance in competition was very close to my PB! I’m very proud of that.

HI Guss

link to your website works well for me. Congratulations to your results. As for me, it is quite hard to do dynamic in 25m pool. I prefer 50m. Your static performance is really great!

Here you can find (if you are interested in) the results of 1st Freediving Championship of Czech Republic held in the city of Brno by the end of June 2003.

You have to scroll down the page to find results chart ! (in english)

The championship participated also some Slovak freedivers (nationality SK). I did my PB in dynamic on this championship (100m), it surprised me a lot :))

here is the photo gallery from the championship:

nice day

Hi Maros

Nice results Maros, thanks for the info.

Comparing with the Spanish results I can see in dynamics very good marks in your country, we had only 1 man in 100 m and you have had 5 men in 100 m or more. Maybe because our performance was in a 25 m pool.

On the contrary we have had better results in statics.

Nice to compare results between countries.

Agustin Espinosa.

Felicidades Guss!

I Pm'd you but you haven't read the message yet. I was wondering why you had been penalized, :( ! Mala suerte. The link worked fine.

Tell me, in preparation for your static were you able to do many warm up breath holds to get used to the CO2? What's your usual competition warm up procedure?

Guss's website has lots of great technical info articles on the physiology of apnea in English. the exact link is:

For SWB and DCI in Freediving among other topics:

and for papers on the diving reflex:

Look at those sites, you won't regret it.
