Jbl Spearguns

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
If I am strictly going for Carp- I'll bring my JBL Sawed Off Woody - It's a GREAT CARP Gun- that's about it- If I know there will be other fish I want to shoot- I'll bring my HammerHead. The JBL's Blast a HUGE HOLE in fish. But It is a Great CARP Gun. But not practical if you plan on using it on multiple spieces of fish. Here's a Pic of the Sawed off's Damages

Dude, if you live in europe, why would you import an omer? Thats a european company. W/E. You are right they, paying shipping on a JBL isn't worth it. But it is a trustier weapon that some people here let on. The guns they are using are probably the old ones. There are worse guns out there now.

Okay I have a JBL woody sawed off magnum. Straight from the store its pretty terrible even with the three 9/16 bands loaded, it shoots sluggish and rather in-accurate although it packs a punch. The shaft comes with a very heavy tip and the shock cord/line is bulky and heavy.... not to mention the slip ring. So I decided to "mod" the gun.
...
I guess their innovation page says it all: JBL Spearguns

Scott, if you want another speargun, how about a 90cm/100cm Omer XXV Gold with reel (or Dessault)? It's amazingly light & agile. Or, if you're after something tough enough for big fish abroad, how about a 90/100cm South African railgun, Rob Allen/Rabitech/Pelaj/Orcas. Spearo Dave carries the Rabitech - formerly Miles' main squeeze. Having been enlightened (literally:D) by the XXV, I'd probably suggest carbon for the railgun too. But if you already have a 90cm Gabbi, your probably already have something similar. Perhaps you should make HED an offer for his rather cool looking homemade 90cm mid-handle gun (see N. Wales thread - he just got a nice 6lb bass with it, so he might be reluctant:D):

I use a JBL Carbine D8. It's a good gun. Quiet too; sometimes i'll shoot at a fish and the others in the area wont even flinch. On double band its pretty powerful too, as it made minced meat of a walleye I shot last weekend. Accuracy? Not anything to write home about, but its not bad at less than 20 feet. I personally can't hit anything at that range, because i suck, but that doesnt mean that somebody else can't. It sure does shoot straight.

Abid, i agree. i have the new jbl sawed off magnum and the sawed off XHD and like them very much. I have heard that they use to make the plastic trigs and line release. but as far as i can tell, the new ones are well made. all metal and the xtra heavy duty class are tough. cant beat them for themoney.

The one I have is still all plastic mechanisms and other stuff, but the main pieces are aluminum. Cheap too so If I lose it or it breaks cheap to replace.

Dude, first off, as most of us in the R.O.W. know, if you live in the UK or Ireland and buy something from the continent (that's Europe to you cheese-head) it's still considered an import since we're surrounded by water and don't have a speargun factory on either island. So it doesn't come from the states, big swing.
I don't need a carp farmer to tell me where the bear shat in the buckwheat.:rcard

Nice shot on the crappies though!:thankyou
