Hi John, the water here is 5C degrees at the moment, so it´s pretty cold, a good wetsuit is a must we mainly get cod and pollok here in the neighborhood, collect scallops and flaunders but there is quite a lot of different fish, scary as well, like the wolffish.
The norwegian answer to deeperblue is Frivannsliv.no - Hovedside a good site, not all that much info in english, but definetly worth a browse, they´re hosting a meet in mai (I think) at a very popular place called fosnstraumen, where the fish are plenty, there are people coming from the other scandinavian countries as well, so looking very much forward to that.
The Norwegian nature is probably a lot like Alaska or Canada.
What´s it like in Redwood then? does not sound very oceanlike
