Hi Dave
As mentioned via email, you're more than welcome to join us and use one of the safety / warm up lines. I realise that this is set at 25m which is shallower than you want but you would still get some practice in and be able to join in socially, help others out around the pontoon and share in the fun.

As a general request to everyone who comes along ... Sam and I have always asked that we receive depths no later than the Wednesday before we dive. The session threads are up and running at least two weeks before the due date. That allows for plenty of time for anyone interested in joining us to put there request in and get their name on the list. We do our absolute best to make sure we accommodate everyone.

My priority is everyone's safety. That includes the freedivers and The Angels. We need to work out gas calcs, blend gases, sort our kit, plan our dives, work our deco schedule out, work our depths out etc etc. The absolute latest decent time I can send that info out to the guys is mid-week. So when Sam and I ask that you post here in time, that's why. It isn't an unreasonable deadline.

In the meantime, we're working on improving the pontoon, adding more training facilities and are introducing a counter weight system to allow for extra training weekends when The Angels aren't available. There is no better freediver training facility in the UK offering the depths and detail to safety that we have at Saltfree. I'm not prepared to compromise that safety in any way and neither is Sam. Late requests aren't necessarily impossible to fit if we have two streams of support divers. This session however, I need all the support divers booked to be in the water in one stream. We have some deep depths to cover, long deco and it's cold!

Look forward to seeing you if you decide to still join us.

Thanks Laura - my thoughts exactly

Once everyone is trained in using the counterweight, we will be able to be a bit more flexible with last minute requests although I do ask that you continue to confirm a week before if possible, and the Wednesday noon before at the VERY latest just to make sure there is enough room for everyone.

Dave and I will run some counterweight training next time we are both there which I think will be the August 12/13 meet.

See you then

Sam

If my little sister could understand, she'd be blown away. Yesterday was for her ... the MENCAP Challenge that we all took part in [ame="http://forums.deeperblue.net/showthread.php?t=66374"]60 Metres for Mencap's 60 Years[/ame]

Indeed. A very inspirational day for a worthy cause. Congratulations Mark.

And as a sidenote a great introduction to Chepstow for me. Lovely day, bit windy but that cooled it down a lovely temp. Met some great people - Dave, Mandy, Dave, Tim, Dave, Matt, Dave, Dave, Dave..... :D Also met the famous thermocline at 18m... what a cold mistress!

Fantastic day - man did I sleep like a baby that night! Thanks to the Angels for the scuba support and Liv for running the show and for all that helped get the day happening. Pen thought you were all a lovely bunch and my cunning plan to have another freediver in the household is getting closer and closer...;)

Cheers,
Ben

A big thanks to Lammy who welcomed me at his place on friday night and gave me a lift to go to Saltfree.

Thanks everyone for a great day and all diving safely.

Congrats Mark - 60m in the cold green swamp is awesome! I'm going to sponsor you now!

Thanks Laura and the Angels for lighting our way.
