On Friday i had dives down to 23 meters knowing that my previous dives were maximum on 15 meters. When i used to dive to 15 meters i was feeling afraid when i reach the bottom, also when i dived to 23 the mask was pushing hard to my face and i was pushing the mask with air from my nose and also i was feeling afraid when reaching the bottom and staying for 2-5 second then going up again. My question how can i know how much deep i can dive and which depth is considered as risky?

if you don't use any pack or any thing considering you have enough oxygen I think evryone could to 30m 40m without squezee eexcluding equalizing problems
I started by 20m with 3 packs that same afternoon I did with 80% volume

My advice is to equalize mask or get a mask that is flexible like the spera or the mares brand masks the new models of mares are all good

Many times feelings of affraid are conencted with the discomfort so don't forget to equalize mask and ear and you will be just fine ;)

don't pack at least just yet if feels unconfortable at first even if you have some experience in pool and can pack to the point of stupidity like 20 packs you will feel uncorfatable at first

start by doing just inhale dives look for interesting stuff on the bottom enjoy the flow

How deep you can dive safely is pretty much up to you. If you are spooked at a given depth, don't go deeper until you are comfortable. There is plenty of time; take it slow. Not far below where you are now, you will begin approaching residual lung volume and your chest will probably start to feel real strange, equalization gets hard, etc. You will get used to it, no worries. Every time you hit something strange, search DB or ask a question.

Have fun with it

Personally I experienced that ´numbers´that don´t lie help tremendously. Wear a watch. It really helps setting an alarm at a certain depth or at a certain bottom time. In that way you can work to your next step.. step by step. You will forget fear when you focus on your goal.

I would say that a wacth is the worst thing you can have it work as placebo for the good and the bad try to feel yourself confortable the puporse it's to get fun :)

I agree. :)
BUT when you´re in a stadium that you wanna find out how deep you can go and how long you can stay down, use a watch. Consider this as training. And when you´re done... relax and your body will recognize the times and the depths. Until it´s time for the next step, again deeper and longer....

Thanks for the replies, but honestly i do not know what is packing and how to do it all what i do is to take deep breath and go down also i do not have watch to tell me about my dive i know it is essential but costly for now :D i have plan to buy one but not now. Right now all what i do is spearfishing and free diving every week once and i do not do any table training or walking and jogging. End of this month i will start training and try to make it in better way.

Thanks for your advice again...
