APRIL 26th, 2008 (saturday) 10am

Lake Geneva, WI

Meeting point to be determined...........

Should have lots of action. Between dodging boats and shooting fish- this should be PRIME TIME! :friday

I plan on bringing my boat, but it doesn't HAVE to be used, if we find another spot that is better.

You know I'll be there...Only about 10 minutes away from where we launched the boat last time! :)

What will the water temp be on that day? I need an exact temp! Not sure I can do cold water so soon after a trip to Florida! :)

Yeah, I might still be spoiled from my campus visit to Hawaii then.

Shouldn't be too many boats on a lake at that time....
The water is still going to be quite chilly, at least that's what I remember from the past :p

Oh, and I'll be there :)

I can make an early morning appearance but then i gotta come home so my wife can go to a "twins" rummage...:chatupOh well, atleast it's just "down the road" for me. You guys are all welcome to stay by me if you wanna go out Sunday too!

I say we meet at the same Marina in Williams Bay. Boat leaves by 9am? Bring your own food and beverage- I'm not bringing the camping skillet this time- Need the room for other stuff.

Khel- Do you think we should meet somewhere else- that might not need the boat? you know this lake better than most.

You can ALL meet at my house.... I only live about ten minutes from where we launched last year!

We can also gain "no boat " access near DEEP water at TWO places I know of...One of them I'd be kinda shy about asking for ALL of us though...It's a little Ol' lady who just LOVES bullheads, and Rockbass! She lives next to Camp Norman Barr. I would'nt want her to deny me in the future for bringing too many guys. I have seen smallish carp in that area while freediving before -and slabber crappies too!

The other spot would be off of the old or NEW safety building...Or at the College...There are several other spots too...I'm sure Khel knows of most of them. I usually go off the lil' ol' Lady's place or the old "safety building" though...But I beleive that has been sold now...

See ya guys.

I am ACTUALLY.FINALLY, REALLY, gonna go spearing/freediving Thursday at Lake Geneva near Camp Norman Barr. :)

We'll see what happens...Hopefully it has cleared up a bit since all the rain. Geneva clears up pretty fast though...Even after a good rain.

Years ago there used to be some pretty decent perch hangin' around there (Norman Barr Camp) Late in the ice-fishing season. I used to ice fish for them near there alot when I was a teenager and get some nice ones...Always late ice...Maybe they still hang around there when the ice goes off? I'll bring the polespear just in case!

Anyone want's to go thats where I'll be...It's not to, too far from the 'OLD" safety building...Lemme' know!

P.S. Y'all Wisconsin spearo's better get 'yer new fishin' license...Old one's expired in March!

I'm wheelin' and dealin' to make a day of it instead of a half day...Some darn "twins" rummage sale thing my wife wants to go to...But yes...I plan on being there fo'sho man!

Unfortunately I'll probably only be able to "come out" for a few hours or four...Atleast I'm goin' out Thursday to "test" the waters!!! Can't be much colder than Lake Michigan was Last fall! That was'nt too bad really.

Gotta compromise with 'wifey sometimes...you know how it is...:chatupTo her this "twins" rummage is a big deal...So thats cool. I'm only 10 minutes from there (Lake Geneva) anyways! The season has just begun for me...By fall I hope to be "set" with some better gear too. But what I got now "works"...

I think she (my wife) has got sumthin' up her sleeve for me, :t I over-heard her talking to my sista about A plane ticket to Florida & scheduling me a week off....And what a GREAT daddy I've been!!!Hmmmmm...PFI? FIT? or just going to go see me Mammy? :) Now she's got me wondering?...

Ive got a great idea for us we send are wifes off with a little money and the whole day tell them have fun and buy themselves something pretty :t then we are out in the water or we will be in the dog house one of the two :chatup

Was there today for about an hour "in the water"...All I can say is COLD!!! :t
Really was'nt too bad except I don't have neoprene gloves...My hands were starting to get kinda painful so I got out. The rest of me was fine... 5mm hoodie and 3 mm socks...But the hands were "kashed" after an hour!

Hardly even saw any fish...Mostly just smalley's in about 15 feet...Went no deeper than 25 feet... Sat there for about 30 seconds and saw that there was a 20" or so catfish about a foot from my hand...Covered in lake dust...I thought he was dead..So I touched 'em and Zooooom! He was outta there!

I need to get me some gloves...With gloves I coulda' probably handled another hour for sure...By the way....water temp was ONLY 41 DEGREES!!!!! Invigorating to say the least!

I'd say shallower there should be more fish...probably on the south shore somewhere with good sun exposure and a darker bottom? Where ever there is warmer water the fish should be there too. That or still out suspended somewhere.

See ya on the 26th...Anyone got'ny gloves I can use that day? The icefins were tight with 3mm...I also am so used to my HF 2000 "Boards" that they don't seem to propel me as nice...Maybe I jus' gotta get a better kick?

i may have a pair of gloves you can use if not you may have to talk real nice to whopp and he might let you use a pair

... or the old "safety building" though...But I beleive that has been sold now...

Unfortunately, it has been sold :( It was my favorite place to dive and fish on the lake.

Khel- Do you think we should meet somewhere else- that might not need the boat? you know this lake better than most.

Without a boat?? Well, new "water safety building" is not a bad place, I may even be able to get a key for it so that we have a place to change/take shower (have to check if that building is available on 26th though). Other than that, we can try Big Foot Park beach - it's a shallower part of the lake... though I've never tried it :)

Just seeing what our options are- I haven't had the boat out this year yet- would hate to be out in the middle of Geneva and a problem occurs. But can always do it. :D- Also, I was thinking If bgill has to leave early- then he can without us all having go back to dock.

We could ALSO go in at the park near (to the right of) Williams Bay boat launch? I'm also not opposed to asking permission from whomever owns the "old" safety building...You never know...They just might say yes. I REALLY liked it there too!

Khel - Where I go alot is near Norman Barr Camp...Which is JUST down the road from the "new" safety building. Where would we park at the new building...I was there yesterday to check it out after my cold but fun dive! But yeah the old safety building was better as far as structure in the water and more fish.

Someday I'd like to check out "conference point" supposed to be a sheer cliff from 20 foot to 120 foot! That would be pretty cool!

Picked up some neoprene GLOVES today too!!!

I'm gonna investigate MORE places to go from shore also...Heck I live just 10 minutes away. I suppose I should pic up a nice lake map too one of these days.

See y'all soon! :)

I might go in by the "Library" tomorrow afternoon...Shallow= warm water= FISH! :)

Wanna' go lemme' know...I gotta try my gloves out. May even try Delavan lake too! Supposed to be GARGANTUAN gill's there.
