Hi Freedivers,
I'm planning on being there. Hoping to see the folks from the last 3 years and get a little freediving in the clear water. I'll have to get a new fishing license... I'm planning on camping. Good place for beginners to experts.
Gene from Menomonie

JUST a FYI: There is a $3.00 vehicle fee/per day. $10.00 PerTent/Per Camper/ Per Day. THERE IS NO DIVE FEE as we are not SCUBA diving. If you are scuba diving there is a fee for that- I think $10 per day.

I'm going to go up Thursday (july 17) afternoon and TRY to get the 2 GROUP SITES (CAMPSITE). I'm not sure how many of you are camping or how many are camping in hotels. Otherwise, I plan on diving around 9am each day - various spots. No schedules are in place. A Time to RELAX and ENJOY the WATER.

They say 'Dive Flags' are required- as long as your by someone with a flag- that should cover you. (if for some reason you don't have one)

SO FAR........Through PM's or posting that you are coming- I have a count of about 16 people. :wave

Also- I'm hoping to do a night dive or two- so, If anyone has a underwater light (torch) let me know. Otherwise- I might stop at a dive shopand pick one up. I heard that at night time- that is when the BIG fish come out :D

That sound so freekin awesome! But somehow my wife seems to have a way of booking us into all "parties" lately...It's like every other weekend we are having - or are at some sort of party, birthday, wedding, anniversary, family, just for fun, etc. etc...

Yeah, they're fun and family friendly and all but sheesh....I'm partied out!

And guess what...Party on the 19th that we can't miss :chatup

So anyhow have fun guys...I'll probably miss it again!

Lookin' forward to the pics stories and vids! Awesome event! In a SUPER clear lake! :)

I might get there Thursday evening otherwise Friday morning for sure. If there are not two sites already reserved I can get them. I will bring a couple extra dive lights and as many lawn chairs as I can find. I made up a bunch of 2lbs weights that I will bring also.

Do we need those anchors up there this year? I can bring them.

I have a tent someone can borrow and will bring it with.

I hope to be up there around 4pm Thursday afternoon. Not sure when everyone else is going to show up- But you can look for the Gray Metallic Durgano. I'm going to try and researve the 2 biggest campsites- hoping that will be enough for everyone who is camping. If anyone is coming and doesn't have a Tent either- I should have room in mine- It's a VERY LARGE Tent- and so far - just dotey and I are in there.

Weather-wise it looks like we will have rain On & Off- We'll see how it goes- If it's not lightening - I will be in the water.

I might not make it to the lake until Saturday morning. It looks like I'll probably get a motel room instead of camping this weekend, so if anyone has any info on your camping site or a cell phone number that I can call, then I'll be able to find you guys lakeside.

I think I'll crash the party - last minute decision. I'll be there friday night and stay until Sat evening - complete with fancy new gear (H. Dessault footpockets, new Specialfins blades, Edy II, Occhio Plus mask). You guys bringing guns??? Target practice I assume - not much worth stickin' in wazee (unless you count scuba divers).

I could shoot a scuba or two. We would have to give it the "fly test" - to see if it's edible.

Kidding of Course- But I don't have any targets- I know they are easy to make- but I've been pretty busy working, looking at houses, ect. I plan on poking a couple suckers with the Sling. I'm bringing some Shore Lunch- so, we'll see.

Waterhawk and who ever else needs it- My Cell #1-608-617-2378.

Ted,

Stop by my house before you go and I can give you a couple of targets to take up there with you.

Jon

I have a couple of wetsuits and masks I'm looking to sell that I might send up with you for people to try on- as well as a carbon fiber monofin if anyone is interested. Cash and carry only.

Z

Whopperhead has sites 3 and 4. Just let them know at the entrance that you are with the freediving group.

I did not see the Carbon Mono - Jon. Ted must of been hiding it from me. I Did put the 'Speacial Fin' Mono of yours to the test- (2 days in the water of some hard kicks) it held together pretty good.

Wazee report and pics coming soon.................

this weekend was great as i got my personal best the first was 38 ft wich i thought was great then today i got another at 42 feet and also found out that i clear hands free and didnt even know i was doing it scott was fallowing me down and never saw me grab my nose and he thought i was going to just blow out my ear drums and didnt after further diving he saw that i was clearing hands free so i guess good for me LOL

Ted decided not to bring it up since he had enough stuff of mine and didn't think anyone would be interested in buying it.

Glad you guys had a good time. I took my kids out swimming in Monona today and could almost see 2'. :head

Looking forward to heading back up north in a couple weeks for some more clear water diving.

Jon

Wazee Weeekend -

Had a Good time! Vis was 15' and 20' in some spots. Water temps were 74 degrees on the top and COLD on the bottom.

We had 7 people show up- dotey(Dusten), Jeff(Ceason) & Jodie (jeff's wife), Gene (SunWaterBoy?), Ted (unirdna), Jeremy (Waterhawk) & Me (Whopperhead). Not sure what happened to some of the others. But We had a good time. LOTS of Diving- That's what it's all about. The Weather turned out to be fairly good- OUR last night we got some rain but it was good.

Waterhawk was a noobie and checking it out to see if this is what he wants to do. I think we'll see him in the future.

dotey got a new PB- 42'. I also noticed he clears HANDS FREE! he didn't even know he was clearing. I feel he could of gone down to the platform at 70'. Maybe next year.

It was a real "care free" weekend - just had a good time DIVING and doing a little bit of Spearfishing. We also gathered some Crayfish for Ted. That was cool to do too. We did several NIGHT Dives - ALOT OF FUN!!!

I did end up shooting 2 suckers and we ate them that night. I used the CAJUN "Shore Lunch" - that was really good.

Took LOTS of Pics and Video.

With diving the "Cliffs", "Sherwood Forrest", "the Lines" It was a great Weekend!

Thanks to Everyone who came to the event! Thanks Papa Smurf for the T-Shirts.

PICS: 1st- Wazee Lake, 2nd- The group minus Jodie, 3rd- Small mouth at night, 4th- Dotey sitting on the Pot, 5th- Jodie or Jody (not sure)
