Great, very perceptive article. Soto's point about getting sick of what you love, is well taken. I did a stint of serious commercial spearfishing a long while back. On first rememberance, I loved it all. But then I remember that after about the 5th straight day of spearing the LAST thing I wanted to do was put on a clammy suit and go spear another fish. It got to be work pretty fast, and incredibly tiring to boot.

Too true. I worked five months straight on a liveaboard and by the end of it i could hardly muster to get out of bed in the morning! Needed a break... LAND...

Customers whingeing, finding anything to complain about, bad weather, rough sea, it's all your fault you know. No sharks, no fish, no whale sharks, no mantas, that's all your fault too.

Right now, i would give my left arm to get back on that boat
