Hello, I'm a new diver, I have done 21 dives and am looking to dive more in the So cal area. I have gone diving in Belize and Thailand so far.

Exactly where are you located? Going to a dive club meeting is probably the best way to start and all the clubs welcome non-members. Starting from the north there are the LA Fathomiers and the Long Beach Neptunes, the Orange County Spearos, the North County Depth Sounders (Oceanside) and the San Diego Freedivers. The OC Spearos and Friends have a FB group where I often see people looking for dive buddies.
It occurs to me that my reply above may not be helpful. When I reread your post I noticed the dive count, and people who count dives are generally scuba divers, and of course your user name should have been a clue. The focus in all those clubs I mentioned is freedive spearfishing. I'm vaguely aware of scuba clubs in the LA area, but I'm afraid I can't give you any names.
