As part of my preparation for Nationals in April, I have been doing two or three free immersion and constant weight dives to around 45 meters. On some occasions after these deep dives I have noticed a small amount of blood in my spit, and can feel a slight discomfort in my lungs when I breathe deep, despite following a pretty slow warm up process to encourage blood shift. The bleeding appears to stop pretty quickly, but my lungs generally feel a little tender the next day.
I am packing, but not to max.
Warm up process is generally as follows:
Pull downs to 10m, 20m, 30m
3 x Empty Lung Dives to 3ms
Pull downs to 35m, 40m, 45m
Constant Weight to 45m
Can anyone please advise me as to ways in which to prevent this. Its not cool. If there is an existing thread, please point me in that direction.
Thanks
