MAKO COMPETITION FIBERGLASS FINS REVIEW
I had been using two pair of fins.
Omer Millenium Winter in Grey color for soft fins when I was going to be doing a lot of surface swimming and Esclapez Black's for a stiffer fin when I was going to be diving more vertical. When I decided to try and upgrade carbon fins were just too expensive for the use I would get out of them and how rough I would treat them. After extensive research I concluded that the Mako fiberglass competition fins sounded like the best fin for the dollar. I purchased the green camouflage not that I need camouflage but I don't think they would look as ugly scratched up as the pretty black ones. All I can say is WOW! OH MY GOSH! THESE THINGS ARE FANTASTIC!!! They are easier to kick than my Omer's and much more powerful / eficient than my Esclapez fins. It is now more comfortable to go deeper and stay longer with less effort. I know physics says that should not be possible and maybe it is in my head but I don't care the reason why it just is what it is. I've only used them on about a dozen trips and I have beat the snot out of them on rocks but other than some mild surface scratching they are as good as new and performing beyond my expectations. I can honestly say I am very happy with my Mako fiberglass competition fins.
