It seems that I'll be in Manila for six weeks for work and will likely have the opportunity to check out some local diving. I'm just interested in hearing suggestions for good spots close to manila for snorkeling and freediving and if anyone could fill me in on the dynamics of swimming in an area with saltwater crocodiles, as aside from great whites, salties are the only big predator I've not been in the water with and that makes me a little nervous.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry for not being much help, but I've never heard of great whites in the Philippines. I've done some diving in Puerto Galera and jungle trekking in Mindoro island. Crocodiles you probably have to search for really hard and jump into a river mouth with zero visibility. Box jellyfish is the one that should wear protection for.
If you find sharks or crocs, let me know where, I'll be there!

Thanks for taking the time to field the reply. I'll be sure to wear a full wetsuit.
