Mares Avanti Quattro Pro Fins

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
when I wrote the message 3 weeks ago, I was completely sure of what I was writing, because I know the biggest channels of distribution of this equipment and, taking a quick look around, it seemed to me that it was more than possible.

then, when I started searching seriously for that precise model and size (after a request of a friend in this forum from new zealand) it was really hard!

also because I wanted to ship them directly to new zealand without italian vat and not pay italian vat (20%) + shipment to me + shipment + new zealand + new zealand vat and duties. at the end for the freind in new zealand the total price was reasonable, in relation of the price that he used to pay when these fins were sold regularly, but I did all my best to find the cheapest solution.

concluding, now 6 pairs of mares avanti quattro power 2x41/42 2x42/43 2x44/45 are flying or maybe are already arrived in new zealand!!!

in the meantime, as always happens, after one day from the shipment, I have known from a good friend in liguria (italian region of mares, cressi, sporasub etc) that he had some ones in stock and had another confirmation, the following day, from one of my french supplier that he could take some ones with him in occasion of a meeting in italy for the first half of january.

so, I think that there are good possibilities to have them.

please give me your email address, so that I can also send some pics to be sure we're exactly talking about the same model and discuss about sizes, shipment and details.

poland is in the european union.
but do you know if you will have to pay vat at receival?
because in this case, you're entitled to a shipment without 20%, otherwise no (unless you own a company with european vat number)

let me know

all the best

ok, received and answered. also about sporasub blades and other eventual accessories.
let's write directly per email.

hulsbek,
Hang in there we are going to resurrect the fin. I don't have a date but I'd start looking for it summer of 2007.

Hi

What exactly do you mean that you are going to resurrect the fin?
I am an underwater hockey player from South Africa and desperately looking for a fin with the same power.
Will it be the same or only a simalar fin?

Kind regards

Obvan, this is the exact same fin. Here in the U.S. we already have the two smaller sizes and by the middle of February we should have the last larger size. Check with a local Mares dealer as to whether they are bringing in the fins and when they will be available in your area.

Best,

Hi

Thanks for the reply.
Do you know who the local dealer is for South Africa.
All the dealerships here are under the impression that these have been completely discontinued.

Thanks again for your help

Cheers

Deon

Did you try the dealer locator on the mares website? I would suggest you tell the local dive shops to call their distributor and inquire what their intentions are re: the fin. Some distributors in some countries choose their assortment to sell to the LDS. These decisions are usually based on market demands. I would think this fin would be popular in S. Africa, but as you know I'm in the US and wont insinuate that I know S. Africa's diving needs.

Hope this helps.

Zak
