I am new to spearfishing and have purchased a mares cyrano to hunt freshwater fish w here in canada.
I am curious what modifications would make this gun better.

Buy better quality shaft and put vacuum barrel kit. Use mono line 1 - 1,5 mm.

The mods suggested can be very effective depending on the size of your gun.

i'm curious if there are any simple mods you can do w/o dry barrel. how much does your performance increase if you enlarge the muzzle ports? and what is the max bar you can put in a cyrano or sten without blowing it up? ha ha! i don't have the resources to mill a tomba kit so some of us amateur spearos might want to start with some simple ''wet'' mods! i love this forum and i appreciate everyones willingness to share what they know. thanks---steve

You will lose your time and get nothing. You could try this (Tomba12easy). Send me a PM. Two times less noise, easier loading, better performance.

850 mm = 85 cm

85cm is a good length, you will see a marked improvement using one of Tromics designs :martial
