I am trying to figure out how to pump air into mares Cyrano gun but the tips I have from a regular hand pump don't work. I noticed there are specialized hand pumps for the guns but they are pretty expensive. Are there any cheap adapters to to fit a regular pump or any work arounds or do I have to purchase the special pump.

The hand pumps are supplied with the guns when you first purchase them, so you cannot have bought that gun new, either that or the pump has been stolen or lost at some time. You need to buy the Mares hand pump, it is as simple as that, they are available from some suppliers of pneumatic speargun parts. Try here: http://www.spearfishingworld.com/spearfishing-gear/speargun-parts/pneumatic-speargun-parts

Either that or find one on eBay or some other auction web-site, but you may have a long wait.
