Hi. We are two certified autonomous freedivers heading to Marsa Alam next month. We have a buoy, rope - everything. We found lots of info about great fun dives and marine life, but nothing about line diving and depth - other than pay per day options with the divesafari company.

Does anyone know if it's possible to access 40m depth in the area, without paying to use a buoy. I wouldn't even mind paying a few LE, but we're there for a month and don't want to pay 20$ a day just to attach our line.

Thanks in advance for any advice. If anyone has ideas about cheap accommodation (10-20$ per night) that's also a help. We stay mid July to mid August.

Hello, Amy, Marsa Alam area includes over 100 kms of shore with tens possibilities of accommodation. I have visited about 15 of them and some of them have access to 40 m depth not far from the coast and some not. I would recommend to choose several hotels first and email to the dive centres about the depth. Then you can deploy your buoy anywhere. Pavel
