I would think that the Cobra, which is a hydro-pneumatic pistol with a sealed face, something similar to the RPS-3 can be transformed into a pistonless pistol with an inner barrel removed, until the inner barrel holds the gun together. If this happens, the front and rear bulkheads should be screwed to the tank, which really requires a new gun and possibly a thicker tank wall to handle the necessary screw threads. The muzzle will need a groove and a shock absorber to catch the removable spear tip. [/ QUOTE]
Well, why don't you bring your idea to life ... Although there are already many similar projects, but there is no working gun ... [/ QUOTE]
I am not interested in producing a pistonless gun, but I would be interested in trying one out. I find all guns interesting and look for the construction aspects that differentiate the various operating types. I have no bias one way or the other in terms of the operating types. Most fish I have shot with my “Sten” as I have had that gun for a very long time, but others such as the “Taimen” have their uses in some of the places I dive. Only gun type I have not hunted with is a pistonless gun, although I expect that it would be similar to a hydropneumatic gun with the small equivalent barrel cross-section matching that of the spear diameter, but with much greater efficiency.
