Just back from L,Estartit north of Barcelona the trip was enjoyable the weather varied from poor at the start to great at the middle and end. Vis was poor by Med standards but I enjoyed the diving despite being on scuba all the time. We had several trainees that need buddues so I didn,t get any freediving in which was a pity as I think i would have gotten closer to the groupers. We also saw a few dentax I think on the very edge of the vis but no photos came out. I am a convertee to lifts on boats now when using scuba, they make for very easy diving.

Hi Sunfish,
Yeah the Islands are a reserve with only a few dive operators allowed to dive on them too. They have mooring points at all the sites so its a nice handy set up. There were plenty of octopus to be seen and the grouper were relatively friendly.

Nice one faergus.

Lovely to see the Med again and nice to hear about the friendly groupers.

Thank god for these reserved islands. After all the overfishing in the Med they will come handy to take our kids there in the future............

Regards

Nik

Ah the Medes... i had many a good dive there some years back. You had really good visibility mate. do you stay i L'Estartit or L'Escala when you dive there? did you hook up with our Adrian?

Very nice pics. :)

I'm still in Madrid but itching to get back to L'Escala and get in the water as it's warming up! Feargus, see if you can escape in the summer to the area! And Sara, if you want to get nostalgic, you too! :)

Sounds great Adrian! I am going to Tonga in July for 10 days, which just about takes up my travel budget for 10 years rofl

So wont be coming to Spain this year. Perhaps we'll see you in the warm heart of Egypt sometime :)

Pics looks great. But I have to say that your viz was not that great. Had seen it better. Hope you enjoyed the place and had time to dive in most of the spots..
