Some of your dive lights use the rechargeable 18650/21700/26650 Li-ion batteries, which are specially designed with protection circuits to the exact specifications of each light for maximum safety and output. To learn more about how to charge, use, store these Li-ion batteries properly, is helpful to extend the life of your batteries, also dive lights.

With each charge and discharge cycle, the Li-ion batteries will age due to chemical reactions within the cell. Some solid Li-ion batteries, such as xtar 18650 3600mAh battery, can be recharged ≥500 times, more cost-effectively and eco-friendly. And it’s always suggested to prepare a suitable charger to power up your Li-ion batteries. Some smart chargers with the convenient features, such as compact size, fast charging, easy-read indicator/screen, three-stage charge, will make your charging smoothly during the diving trip.

For using the Li-ion batteries, please make sure to follow the safety procedures and precautionary measurements. If the Li-ion batteries are improperly used, or defective, they are potentially hazardous. Remember to keep the Li-ion batteries away from extreme hot and cold temperatures. Heat and subzero cold may reduce battery life by 15–20%. If you use the dive light in extremely cold water, it’s suggested to use the special low-temperature Li-ion batteries.

When your Li-ion batteries are not used for a long time, then how to store them? If the Li-ion battery is stored empty, it will be drained too much. If it’s stored while it's full, the lithium ends to age quicker. It's ideal to store them at 40-70% state of charge, that means anywhere from 3.5V to 3.8V. More conveniently, you can directly use some chargers with STORE function, for example, xtar VC4 plus charger could charge or discharge the battery to rated 3.7V in storing mode.
