Motors Outboard on Kayaks?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
On the positive side, if you stick with the paddle you get free exercise! (Just about the only thing you'll get free in the UK at the moment - can a tax on breathing & sex be far away?) Nice upper body workout to complement the finning. No noisy, smelly, carbon dioxide-producing motor to lug around & service. At least that's what I tell myself whenever the thought of boat crossed my mind -- no need to worry now, the govts. has put pay to all my discretional spending for the foreseeable future.:(

have been researching the options again since thoughts turn to lazy sunny days.

The inflatable Yaks in the USA seem to be well ahead of anything available on this side of the pond.

Kaboat

New Invention - Crossover between inflatable kayak & boat - KaBoat 15' SK470. (I've seen 1 clip with it fitted with a 15HP! , although my intention would be to use a light 4hp to get around the bay).

Good price, but the company will onlu use FEDEX ($500 ish) which is as much as the kayak! Can be collected, but havn't found a reasonable courier. I'm sure it can be shipped for less than £100.

SEYVLOR Fish Sport Fisher

West Marine: SportFisher Inflatable Kayak Product Display

Similar to Omegas setup, although I think some improvements have been made. BUT it is the only model they do not sell to the UK market?! Unsure why. Takes up to a 4HP, but reckon the Kaboat is a better buy and quality if it can handle officially outboards up to 10HP, and take even bigger.

SEA EAGLE

Spindrift Ltd - U.K. - Paddleski Kayaks

The only UK option, and with a UK price tag!!

Anybody got any other options, or ideas how to ship from the USA. The Kaboat dimensions packaged are 79lb 50" x 22" x 10".

Only a pipedream! Issue is access on this coast, otherwise it would be a 4m Inflatable with 15HP!
