Now and then I send a PM to multiple addressees, and I would prefer that each addressee be able to see that others received it. But as far as I can tell, each addressee sees his/her address alone, and can't tell that others also received the PM.
If I should want to send a blind copy, there is a separate field for that, but I almost never want to send a blind copy.
On Spearboard, I think it generally acts the same way, but every now and then I do get one in which I can see multiple addressees. However, I think that may be the case only when the PM is from a moderator.
This post is prompted by a rather typical situation. I was having an exchange of PMs with another subscriber on how to mount a particular brand of reel on a Wong gun. I thought the subscriber had the wrong idea about a critical point, so in my advice to him, I also addressed Daryl Wong so that Daryl could see what advice I was giving and correct me if I was wrong. The subscriber then called Daryl for advice, and was surprised that Daryl was already aware of our exchange. I was surprised that he was surprised, since I thought he might have seen that I had included Daryl in the conversation by sending a copy of the PM to him, but apparently the guy couldn't see that.
So if I haven't totally confused everyone, I think it would be nice if all recipients of a PM could see the user names of all who received it. Is there a software setting that could be changed to enable that feature? If so, I recommend that it be turned on.
