Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
If I'm fortunate enough to get within range of a marlin I'll take the shot. I agree, the potential loss of gear would be worth the opportunity.
That being said.....I have a float that measures 24" x 12" x 4", my gun is attached to that float with 120' of float line.
I believe I would have a chance to land something big with this setup.
Equipped this way, I feel I'd be set up properly.
I'll have to see what I see.

I have 25 ft. of bungie and 75 poly-pro and a Rob Allen Hippo float. Anything is possible with the right shot.
 
Well Fella's there ya go, never say never, shoot first worry about lost gear if and when it happens
