well i am new to this training thing
but what i understand is do not hyperventalate
but just breath easy and relaxed
I am doing my tables at least once a day
static pb is 2:20
but my new technique is walking dianamic breath hold.

I have a walk on my property that perimeters 8 acres
So i relax hold my breath and walk when i need to breath i stop breath easy for 1:30 t0 2 mins then hold breath and walk again
I took me 8 holds to walk the loop

What do you guys think of this technique?

thanks for the info

Dustin

Canada is a great place! It has everything...except really warm water :)

My dad has the kind of acreage you have and I love visiting him for that reason. peaceful, clean in the country....

BC is a great place (I'm from Ontario). I'm now living in Blegium for 2 years with work. Looking to find some people to hook up with...but thats another story

As for your technique it is recommended actually. also try working in a breath hold sitting still for 1 minute and then getting up and seeing how far you can walk.

When you get comfortable with your holds a great gague to learn where your turn around limit is, is to find a building with a few floors and do a proper breathe up at the top. walk down the stairs as far as you can and then turn around when you feel you should go back up. Try to remain holding your breath until you get back to the top.

A word of caution...obviously this can be dangerous if you pass out/black out while on stairs. When done right its a great way to learn what it's like to work your body easy on the way down and a little harder on the way up.

if you want to keep doing it outside, try finding a hill and going down and up that.

You know, I've been freediving casually for nearly a year, and I've yet to try "apnea walking." Don't know how good it would be here in North Florida, though. In my backyard alone, I'd be dodging yellow flies, mutant mosquitoes, and the occasional water mocassin (cottonmouth snake). Then again, maybe it would be quite the workout?!

i have heard of guys doing the same method but running the breath hold and walking in between - I do a simular method but use a pool to do it in - Key is to decrease your recovery time! start at 2min then work all the way down to 40 sec decreasing by 10 sec at a time - try hold your breath for the same time even though the recovery time decreases. start walking then maybe work your way up to running - By the way your house sounds great!!
