My new mono

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Thanks, wes, I just tried the stretch. It felt really nice, but I must confess I did much less than 8 minutes. I did it at the edge of a bed, so I could stretch my arms lower than my head. I hope I'm not missing something out, not sure I understand the hand positions: are they pressing the book between them for the whole time? Wish I could see a picture of this!

Personally, I feel flexibility is not really my problem with the mono, but rather coordination - it's a very subtle movement, this undulation, and it just takes lots and lots of work to get it right. I've still a long way to go, but it's quite fun - I'm kind of process-oriented, so I don't really mind just doing drills and preparations and working on the basics for a long time.

Here is a pic with some notes showing the stretch taught to me by a Yoga instructor. Rolling the shoulders out and opening the chest is a big part of it. Good luck. Cheers Wes
