N00b intro #

Hi all,

I haven't had the opportunity to dedicate time to water sports like I would like, plus I live in AZ so it's not exactly easy to get to the water regularly, but I'm passionate about scuba diving and free diving and all things water. I love the ocean and feel like I would have gills if God gave me the option

I've scuba dived when I got certified (I was 22), again last year in Bali (I was 39), loved both times immensely, just only now are my kids old enough and my finances and such balanced that I can start to look at affording these pleasures to myself. The good news is I will really appreciate it when I get to go!

Anyway, hope to someday have some of my own time (work, family and projects tend to take up most my time right now) and will then dig in deeper and learn more about how to go spear fishing (never been)

Welcome to Deeperblue. I know how it is to be landlocked in an area that less than ideal for diving. My current location is in central California near Fresno, and the only bodies of water nearby are dirty, filthy reservoirs.

I assume you are referring to Arizona? Do you get to dive out at Havasu?

Welcome to DB. I'm also in Arizona, in a suburb of Tucson. I'm an avid freediver and scuba diver. If you are in the Tucson area, shoot me a PM if you want to get together. I've got a 20m lap pool that is 12 ft deep at the drains. It's pretty good for training exercises, but only when I can find a dive buddy, so that we can safety for each other. So, it would be great if you were close by and interested...
