No its not a Chub or Carp just cooked it in oven with ginger and wine ! It is a fresh water fish.Family kindly gave it me as a present ?!!! Out of there garden pond! (frozen).
 
Fish was supriseingly nice !very much like bass and a lot of flesh for the size of fish.Think it was a .......let you think a bit longer just trying to up load pics from phone having trouble ...will try again!

See what you mean with the orfe and ide looks very like it just looked them up never even heard of them before!Surprised how hard the scales were for some reason I wasn't expecting any!
 
Dace!? The rod caught record is only just over a pound. That's either a monster fish or a very small sink! They're also more a fish of rivers than ponds.

I'd say small grass carp myself.
 
Will go back to google and look again !sure it is a Dace tho.Yum yum...................................Think you could be right and Jonny .Grass carp looks good but so close can't be sure.Britains dace record is 1lbs 5oz 2 DRM Scottish 1 lbs 3oz 8 drm.if the site I used was up to date.fish was 14-15in long.
