Nanaimo Video

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Finally got to see the video!

Very, very cool, Will.

Try the Gulfstream Vid on the same site (make sure you watch the credits at the end!)

What did I tell you Rach! you gotta dive up here!

Last guy I took to the coast loved it! Even after getting violated by Harbor seals :D

Looks like we're putting another Trip together for late August/early Spetember.

Nanaimo - 3 days & 7 dives

Then driving across the island for some Surfing in Tofino! (6hr drive - one of the best parts of the trip)

2 days in tofino - with all the Halibut and Hippies you can handle!

I'll keep you all posted. This is a "Non-Tech" trip - so Rec types are welcome with lots of chances for wreck pen if qualified.

Willer

I dove the Gulfstream quite a few times on air back when I used to wear tanks. It's a fairly deep, dark and spooky dive to say the least. People died on it when it sank and it was at 130' to 175' if I remember correctly. I probably DON'T remember correctly, given I was breathing air at those depths (Greg's dive buddy Brian Nadwidny has razzed me about that...he's a hardcore DIR Trimix dude).
Another dive not to be missed, if you get a captain that knows where it is, is the Capilano. I freedived it a few years back, when I could barely reach 90'. The ship is sitting in 130', and when I dove it, I could see the entire ship from bow to stern. The ship is 135' long! The visiblity was unbelievable. I dove it with tanks later that day, and confirmed that the vis was over 135' horizontally at -135' !!
West Coast Canada has some amzing diving indeed. Worth it if you can stand the cold.
Cheers,
Erik Y.
