I have only been out spearfishing about 10 times or so however the last 3 times that I have gone out I have got a very bad case of nausea accompanied with blood in my sinuses.
At first I wasnt sure if this was sea sickness. I havent been sea sick before and i thought it was unlikely, I have ruled this out though because the nausea feeling only starts to come when I start diving. I only dive in 6 - 10 m of water and I havent been pushing myself at all.
About 1.5 years ago I had an operation on my nose (it had been previously broken) to open up the nasal cavaity and improve my sinuses.
Has anyone ever heard of this before and can diagnose what it is? Should i try sea sickness tablets before I go out diving again? Is the blood in my sinuses caused by mask squeenze and is the blood making me feel nausea?
I should also add that as soon as i leave the water my nausea goes.
