New Cressi Gara Modular

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.

Have 2 pairs of cressi fins... one fits, the other probably fits my big toe only...
Hope they make the pocket for wider feet!

My dive buddy (raven21) has these fins and he loves them. He used to use my Omer camu 3d plastic fins but often cramped up and couldn't get on with them. But now with the Cressi fins he has no problem and thinks they are very powerful under water. He is away on holiday at the moment but I'm sure if you pm him he will be happy to share his opinion.

I got my Gara Modulars in late March and have spent up to 5 hours in a day on them, and have maybe 30 days diving. They're the best plastic fin to date for me, and I've used every cressi model, and most all the others. BTW my Professionals are still strong after 2 years. Cressi has always taken a strong stand behind their products.

The best feature for me is the self adjusting foot pocket that stretches on the top of my foot. It's a better fit since I have a wide foot and a high instep.

I also ordered a set of foot pockets for my C4 Falcon carbon fiber blades. I still have to clean up the old glue and redrill the bolt holes, they're a tad narrower than the Omer footpocket I had.

Hi Chad, you mentioned that you are fairly satisfied with these fins, with one of the points being the self adjusting foot pocket, in particular reference to wider feet. I have "flipper" for feet, excuse the pun and take a 2E width in my running shoes with no instep whatsoever. I was looking at a pair of Imersion E-Blacks as was under the impression that they are on the whole a wider cut, or should I still not exclude the Garas. also how do the two fins stack up against each other.
This is my first purchase of "long" fins and as such am also a little unsure about how tight the fit needs to be, or how loose. Having only been able to try the fins on in the shop, I'm not too sure how the fit will change when in the water. I plan to use some neoprene socks too.
Any advice from anybody would be really appreciated.

Grubby,My feet are a bit wide and I have my garas-modular with the same size as my shoes. Comfortable and can get in them with 3mm socks. It feels like having nothing on and I ended buying straps to feel more secure.

I have these fins as well, only took them out once, and they seem really nice. Normally my shoes size is 8 1/2 so I got the 8-9. As I was diving outside I was wearing socks about 5mm in total and the fit was fine. So without socks they are slightly loose. I was also using the Gara Professionals with size 8-9 and they were a proper tight fit without socks. That might be worth keeping in mind when buying a pair.

I have this fins from July of 2013. They are really great for the diving ! Have loved them from then. Suggesting them to anyone, the footpocket is ok for me and really close to my normal shoe size :).
