Well, this mask is more suitable for line diving (training / competitions). Personally, I do not use it for recreational diving. I do not like the spheric masks - although my vision is fine, you won't see a lot with them. They are, though, just fine for line diving, where all you need to see is the line, the bottom plate, and the safety diver. Hence I do not think that some extra diopter would make any big difference.

i would really like to try one, but the sphera doesnt fit and if it is like the sphera, it will not fit. my problem with the sphera is, that the "bridge" over the nose is too deep down (if this makes sense). how is this here?

marc

The Flow has no bridge at all. It is a single lense mask and the space between the halves is continuous without any interruption. I'd tell that it should fit even people with classical roman (antic) nose, but then again I cannot really test it without undergoing a surgery, so there is no waranty in my claim :) And I really do not want to finish like Michael Jackson.

o.k.
if it fits my roman nose, i will give it a try.
one transparent flow
pm me the details, if you will make the mass order

I have polled. I'd like to know how much I'll have to pay. Seems like an interesting mask.

Well, I am afraid I'll have to withdraw the offer for the mass order - unexpectedly, there is only very little interest. I'd need many more people willing to get one to be able opening a dealer account with the manufacturer. I still let the poll opened for a few days - perhaps there will be some people arriving from holidays, but unless the interest grows significantly, I'll not be able helping others to get the mask for a reasonable price.

I will buy five, that is if the price is still reasonable after shipping and currency exchange. Let me know...

Tony, what was the "Sphera like" mask you tried with the glass lens?

good idea trux...I would use the mask for spearing, how dark is that tint (on the black silicone mask)? would you advice for or against for spearing? if pro I would order 5....let me know here or PM thx!

i don't think you can spear too well in a spherical mask tone, try one first. when i tried it felt like I was drunk.... (maybe I was :)

I spearfish with a sphera. I have a hard time with a clear skirt, but when I use a black skirt sphera, I have no problem. It took one dive to get used to it.

Well, as I wrote already above, persoanlly I do not really like the optics of the spheric masks (regardles if it is Sphera or this one), so use a normal mask (mostly Technisub Mikromask) when the vision is importnat and I really want to see something. I agree with Azapa that it feels as if you were drunk when using a spheric mask, and the vision is somehow not consistent. Perhaps it is individual, because I also know people using it for everything, including spearing, or UW rugby, where good vision and distance estimation are esential.

As for the tinted lens - it is not too dark, and if it was not banned at freediving, I'd definitely take one. Whether you can spearfish with it, I have still my doubts, but the tint won't really mind - unless you fish in very bad light conditions.

As for the shipping cost - as I wrote above, I believe it should be possible to send for under 5€ in EU, and below 10€ worldwide at a single mask and without insurance or tracking number. Double of it if with insurance and a tracking number. At multiple masks, the shipping cost per mask would be lower.

My Shpera views "fine" no real distortion with the plastic lens, like defects and such. It definitely makes things under water look a lot closer than a flat lens. Maybe some of the plastic lenses have imperfections, or if you use more peripheral vision or looking out the sides for whatever reason, you get more of a circus mirror effect.

I ^^^agree, I have, I mean had... a technisub spheric mask that was excellent and served me well for many years till a bubbleblower decided to put his tank on it:vangry...anyways the tint is my concern, is it a very light grey? can you perhaps post the mask if not an inconvenience.

may be it is possible to sell/order the mask via the db-shop?
Yes, that would be likely the best solution, although I suppose they would need to make some profit on it, so it might be more expensive than what I proposed (but perhaps not if they order in sufficient quantities).

I think proposing it directly to the store management, or here on DB in the suggestion subforum to bring it to the attention of Stephan, may be worth of trying. I am afraid he may not watch all threads on DB. And I also do not know how much influence he has on the DB store - AFAIK, it is run by an associate 3rd party company.

Personally, I'd be happier if an existing reseller offered it. I just found it a pity it is not offered anywhere online, and wanted to bring the mask to the attention of freedivers, because I really think it is superior to the Sphera in many aspects (hydrodynamics, compressibility, no bridge between lenses, cheaper)

What is the voting/mass order thing because I clicked on twenty tinted and I feel really dumb. Dont tell me that they are going to order twenty masks for me, cause that would suck.

If you clicked on twenty, Trux will automatically order twenty masks for you, access your bank records, debit your account for the cost of twenty masks plus shipping and have them sent to your house. Only one question.... Do you want standard delivery or next day express?
