New gun build

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Thanks guys - you can learn from your mistakes!
I will completely remove all the polyurethane & revert back to my two pack acrylic lacquer!!
Unfortunately I am in the middle of another build that requires my immediate attention however the the gun will be finished very soon.

Hi there Foxy.
For the line release dilemma, what do you think about a solution as shown below: just one small hole to drill. On your ET gun, the "star" of the release device would be kept in place blocked by a sharkfin tab of the shaft. You see what I'm saying...
Or you had something else on your mind?

It ended in my shed, I must get it out and see where we are....
The main thing is, I am not really keen on such a light weight gun but I do seem to remember I did get it to balance quite well.

Forgive me for stalking you, mate. I just can't help thinking of it: definitely one of the most interesting projects and most good looking fishing sticks I've seen in decades. I had to ask ;-)

Yeah come on Foxfish crack on... its still a mighty fine carbon barrel to work with... and not forgetting that the 'best' usually comes from adversity...
