Hi, I'm just getting back into the water after a long period of all work and no play! Pleased to have found this very useful site. I've never spear fished before, having only snorkelled for shellfish and watched with frustration as the Bass swim by! Now I'm armed, hopefully that'll change..... Any advice for Conditions and approximate locations to try in West Cornwall greatly appreciated.

Cheers, I don't want my first catch to be a fellow diver though, so I'll make sure I'm fully competent & safe with the gun before I take you up on the offer!
I used to see a fair bit of life in and around Prussia cove so I might give that a go first- as soon as (if...) the summer gales abate!
Derfl, Prussia Cove is a great little spot to spear, Bass and Mullet on the reefs that run out from the shore and flatfish out on the sand, just a bit of a pain walking up and down with your kit on.:crutch
