New Monofin Purchase

Hello,

I'm looking for an advice where/how to purchase a monofin. I'm a competitive freediver from Serbia.

1. I need a monofin for competitions (DYN), but as well for 20-30min of training session.
2. Concerning the "shape" and exact type of monofin I wanted to check whether there has been some improvement over the years or "glide monofin/hyperfin" is a standard monofin nowdays ? Are there some variations (cut corners etc) ? I'm open for any suggestions and advice.
3. Used one vs new one ? What is a lifespan of a monofin at all ? Should I go for a used one, what should I pay attention to when buying a second hand ?

For traditional mono fins, the various versions of the hyperfin are the best competition fins. Getting one that fits, is the right stiffness for you and is reasonably durable(a major issue with traditional monos) can be tricky and expensive. Many divers have a hard time finding the above.

The Dol-fin Orca2 offers hyperfin performance, bulletproof durability, ability to tune the fin to your characteristics, perfect fit and comfort(you can wear it for hours), plus it is far easier to pack for travel to competitions. The Orcas are more expensive than a traditional hyperfin, but that is the only drawback I know of.

You would probably have to buy one new, used ones are pretty much non-existant.
