My names cody, I'm just starting out spearing and I want to get started (buy stuff) although i would probably Only dive in shallows like really shallow, iv seen a few threads people mentioning shallow dives and then something like 15m that would be very very deep for me ahha.
I'm not sure how far i can dive yet but my breath hold is up to 1m 10 sec
I have a few questions:
First of all this is going to sound like I'm a bit of a "pussy" sorry if you guys count that as swearing; but I'm unsure of how you guys get over the fear? not really fear but worrying about shore dives and being hit by waves into rocks (i think my worry comes from this happening to me about a year or so ago i got washed into some rocks and then swept out a fair way from the beach. I'm not scared of water or anything silly like that just not sure how you guys can just go in and not care if a big wave shows up?
next is bungees on the end of your gun do you need those? what are they for and all that good stuff.
Now final question considering this is very long
beginner gun ( i am willing to spend a little more than just a 60 dollar gun considering I'm hoping it will last) althoughif you have better guns for cheaper leave some ideas.

So i know basic things but if you have tips or equipment ideas on what i should get for shore dives and why.
like i said i have a basic understanding
