New spearo in Dubai

Hi guys,

My name's Jean and I'm living in Dubai for a couple of years now.

I did some spearfishing a few years back, and would really get back to it.

I just dont know any spot where to, or anything about the rules here in Dubai.

Any advice would be welcome.

Maybe you can look up a local dive shop and they will be able to let you know about spear fishing laws and good spots to go?

I did ask the store where I bought my gun from. Their answer was: yes you can spearfish, but be careful. And you can do it everywhere, but be careful..

Are you spearfishing yourself?

A part from the obvious, that you have to be , i guess it's because they don't have any other answer.

Hi Jean,
In Dubai spear fishing is not allowed both for free diving and tank diving. However, you are allowed to own a gun to defend yourself against any threat under water (like shark attacks). i.e: you can spearfish without being very open about it. ... we are going to spear fish soon and you can join if you want. msg me if ur intersted.
