new to spearfishing

hey guys my name is Jesse and i recently found a liking in spearfishing. i live in NJ and if anyone here can give me any info for a beginner like ,as for saltwater, wat are easy species to target and wat are good choices for gear. also if anyone is from north jersey i would realy appreciate it if i could get a few spots to hit were i would have a high success rate. cant wait till im able to get in the water.
