New to the sport whats the best gun for me?

It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Its all about knowing where and when to go to catch fish. Every other factor is just a small %. The best fishermen always know where to go to catch fish.

If you can make the Telegraph Cove trip - you'll love it. We dove walls and other areas which were suitable for any depth. My own depth limit crept downward noticeably while I was there. For this type of area a 75cm euro gun is a perfect fit. The longest gun on the trip was a 90cm euro. Most were 75cm euroguns - mine was a Riffe MT0 (83 cm I think). Also a 70cm pneumatic and a Riffe MT1. Nobody had range or power issues (though DeepRN had a rockfish stolen by a huge Ling!! Dragged the shaft down into a cave.)

Heres a gun list as I recall :)
Omer Excalibur 75cm
Omer T20 75cm
Omer Master America 90cm
RA 75cm
Riffe MT1
Riffe Competitor (same lenght at MT1)
Riffe MT0
Cressi 70cm pneumo

There were a couple others along but that's what got used. My 100cm Omer Cobra was really too big for those conditions, particularly the current.

Here is something from that trip - to when your appetite.
