:tHi guys ....yep i'm new too and will be after as many tips and as much help as i can get. see you all some where.

Hi martinadia, welcome aboard. :)
You have come to the right place for lots of tips and help.

Hi Martinadia, welcome to db what are you most into, free diving, spearfishing?

Hi there foxfish ,am really keen on both have done a bit of freediving but have not done any spearfishing except for for a morning of octopus hunting with a spear, swimming with a greek guy who spoke no english. i was wearing a windsurfing wetsuit and swim gogles! still managed to catch my dinner. are there clubs I can join where they will help me with hunting or is it a case of trial and error. sorry if i sound a bit naive here . we dont live on the coast and the only time i spend in the water untill now is swim training in a pool.

I cant help you with the clubs thing as I live in the CI & my English geography ain't to good either. However - luckily you can ask away any specific questions or search the forums.
You can find lots of regional threads on db like Dorset & Cornwall, where do you think you will actually get in the water?

probably south coast as its close enough, am more near the kent end of the country ! yeah regional threads..... good idea.
hey what kind of thickness wetsuit do you use where you are. what make would you go for...
sounds like a good life out there in CI's,is the climate better than here.
we used to live in france (not by the sea damn it)

thanks for the reply. how do you train for freediving on your own at the pool, i don't have a club but have free access to three different pools( perks of the job) am also kind of curios as to what kind of times i should be doing in static apnea (dry) as a beginer... do i go for max every time or should i be practicing reps of a percentage of my max( my max keeps changing to make it more complicated) as you can see I have a lot of basic questions to ask...sorry

Definitely don't do any apnea training alone in the pool. I hope someone can help you with finding a local club or another freediver to train with. :)
