The Venezuelan´s Freediver Carlos Coste, has achieved the world récords in two of the modalities more difficult of the descent in apnea of depth in sessions of training, previous to the intent of world record.

While last Thursday 26, it was able to descend the -92 meters in free immersion, equaling the current record possesses by the Austrian Herbert Nitsch . During next weekend, of the 3 at October 6, Carlos will try to repeat or to overcome these marks, when they are present in Venezuela, the international judges AIDA to make the validation and recognition of the same ones in the denominated event: Challenge in the Deep.

Comparing Apples to Oranges

If we are going to start announcing 'records' in training, then these 'records' should be compared to the TRAINING results of other divers. In that sense, Coste has not surpassed the 105m CW of Sebastien Murat (training) or the 97m FI of Nitsch (training).

When Coste's official results are in, then we can compare them to the 87m & 92m records.

Similarly, Nestor should compare his training results in dynamic to the 200m of Stepanek & Murat.

Murat did 105?!
Where? When?
BTW, I agree with Eric. It is good to know the progress of the Venezuelan freedivers in training sessions but we can't talk about surpassing the world records in training sessions! The conditions are uncomparable...
Never the less, it is good to be informed about what's on in the world of Apnea...

hi Eric

Please tell us about Seb Murats 105, id love to hear about it as he is australian. To me I believe that whatever someone has done in training and done it clean is a record. If Seb Murat did 105min training clean then to me that is the Wr, same as martin and the 200m dynamic. Of course these arn't judged by aida or whatever. But if the athlete has achieved it then he is the best.

cheers

Not 'records'

Miguel,

It is nice to hear about what's happening with the trainings, but these are not 'unofficial records', the unofficial records are much deeper! Maybe they are Venezuelan records, but don't call them unofficial world records.
